Out of State Vehicle Purchases
Georgia Sales Tax must now be paid on vehicles purchased from dealers/companies
outside of the State of Georgia prior to registration of the vehicle
Handicap Placards
The Tag Office issues handicap mirror hangers. The application for these hangers are available in our office.
New Decals
“IN GOD WE TRUST” decals are available to display on one’s car tag in lieu of the county name decal. These decals are $1 each and are available in the Tag Office.
New Fees to Renew Most Specialty Tags
House Bill 1055, which went into effect on May 26, 2010, added an additional $35 in addition to the regular tag fee to renew most specialty tags. The tags most affected are Wild Life tags (Deer, Bobwhite Quail and Humming Bird), Dog, Cat, Educator, Purple Cone Flower and Wild Flower tags
Credit Card Payments
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and debit cards are accepted in our office as payment options on tags and property taxes. There is a 2.5% administration fee on credit cards and a $2.00 transaction fee on debit cards.
